Located in the South East corner of Portugal 20 miles East of Faro, Tavira is possibly the most picturesque town in the Algarve with a visible history dating back to Roman times including the Old City walls, the Castle ruins and the bridge over the river Gilao, the town can also boast to being home to 27 churches and although tourism is now the main industry the fishing trawlers can still be seen in action today.
